     - This next one is from Jamie. Have any of your Glee cast mates seen A Very Potter Musical and have you talked to them about it?
Darren: Yes, actually! Somebody else just asked me about this for the first time and it took me by surprise. The first thing that Chris Colfer said to me was, he was like, “Hey, nice to meet you, man! I’m a big fan of A Very Potter Musical,” and I was like, “No way! You’re just saying that.” Because what I thought was he was just being very sweet and cordial. He probably found out I got the part and he probably Googled me and the first thing that came up was A Very Potter Musical. I would never assume in a million years that anybody who I ever meet will have actually or was familiar with the shows. If you’re just looking up someone online for like two seconds, you’re not going to watch the whole thing – it’s tough. So I just assumed that he was being sweet but just mentioning that and acknowledging it and so I thought that that was a nice enough gesture. And then later, upon hanging out with him more, I realized – he was like, “no, I like know the show.” He would quote it and he really knew the show more than anybody that I had ever met on set anywhere, because anytime I work in anything, nobody really knows about this double life I lead. They just assume that I’m just this actor on the show and that’s all I do. So that was the first time where somebody I was working with was really familiar with my other life, so that was really, really cool and we got to bond a little bit over that. We got to geek out over a lot of musical theatre things. So yeah, Chris has seen the show and he as said very kind things about it and it definitely meant the world to me when he did.
 
 - A lot of fans were wondering what it’s like to work with Chris Colfer. Jane Lynch once described him as, I think, an 80 year old woman in a teenage boy’s body.   -Would you agree with that, or how would you describe him yourself?
Darren: I really like Chris a whole lot, we get to geek out a lot of musical theatre things and I think we enjoy a lot of the same things in general. I think both of us strive to be generally fabulous on a day-to-day basis, so that’s something I like to relate to Chris about. […] He’s like a magical creature, like a really fun, magical.. I can’t figure out what entity I want to say. Yeah, he’s like… man, I’m trying to think of a good creature that’s like, awesome. He’s like a really playful wood nymph.

     Darren:  I know that Chris Colfer, when I met him, he was the only person I’ve met professionally that was familiar with my work and my musical so that was cool. He was a fan and he knew bunch of the lines so I was like ‘Wow, Chris, I love you!’

The first day I met Chris we had dinner and I was like ‘Wow, this is an awesome part’. - Darren Criss,  ‘Behind The Glee’ – Special Education.

“But Darren and I, we have a great time. I have fun with him. I was a big fan of his before he was cast because I was a big fan of A Very Potter Musical. And the funny thing is, even when I told him that when I first met him, I don’t think he quite believed me. I think he just thought I did a little research on him. But no, I actually was a big fan of his, because I just thought that whole thing was so genius. So I do ask him quite a bit about making that, and what it’s like to go to Michigan, and all that. He takes everything very seriously, which is very comforting. He’s great.”

Were you surprised that everyone reacted so strongly to Darren Criss?
  Chris: I think it was so successful because it’s the first time you see Kurt smile, personally. So you’re welcome, Darren…
No, I mean, I was a huge fan of Darren’s, and he doesn’t believe me. He doesn’t believe that I was a huge A Very Potter Musical fan before, even though I quote it all the time and try to convince him, he still doesn’t believe me. He thinks I just did some research on him. So yeah, I definitely was not surprised.
And [Teenage Dream] was such a good song. Like, we heard the arrangement first and I got chills. I thought, ‘This is one of the best songs we’ve ever done.’”

Are you hoping he stays on the show long-term?
Chris: Yeah! Yeah, he’s fun to have around.”

What’s it like working with Darren?
Chris: Great, I’m a huge, nerdy fan of Darren’s from his Harry Potter musical, and I told him that the first day that I met him. I don’t think he believed me. I was maybe a little star struck actually.
When I was in high school I did a show called Shirley Todd, which was a spoof of Sweeney Todd, that I wrote and directed, so that’s why I loved what he did with Harry Potter so much more, because I did it when I was in high school.

     Well, I feel like I should say Teenage Dream… I’m not gonna lie, I listen to it like four times a day.

Darren: “Well, I can’t believe it in the idiomatic sense of ‘Oh, I can’t believe it. It’s such a big deal!’ but at the same time, in a realer sense, I can because he’s an incredible, incredible guy. Twenty years old, having accomplished as much as he has is just so inspiring and so amazing. You know, in the entertainment world he’s sold scripts, he’s producing things, he’s winning Golden Globes… And on sort of a more humanitarian philanthropic front, he’s doing so much as a spokesperson for young people. Just the fact that I get to call him a colleague is just the coolest feeling ever.
So I’m definitely shooting him all my love tonight.”

Is Darren Criss a good kisser?”
“Oh god yes - wait, no, I don’t mean like ‘oh god’ - Yes, yes, he’s a good kisser, but - I meant, ‘Oh God, that’s always the first question people ask me now.’ It used to be like, ‘Oh, you’re saving lives!’ and now it’s like “Is Darren Kiss a good crisser? Is Darren kiss…wow. Yes, yes he is.”

     - Can you discuss your on-screen relationship with Chris Colfer who plays Kurt?
Darren: I’ve been lucky enough to work with the amazing Golden Globe Award winning Chris Colfer and that is fantastic. I get to work with him on a day-to-day basis and he is such a generous talent. Chris and I like to play. He always throws me things and I ping them back to him and it’s really fun. We definitely have a very lovely rapport personally – I think on screen too – and I hope you can see that in the characters.

I: Who has the best game?
Lea: Darren Criss!
Chris: I almost said him for flirty, he’s very flirty.

     -If you were stranded on the side of the road at 3 a.m. and could only call one Glee co-star to pick you up—knowing they would answer the phone—who would it be and why?
Darren: I would totally pick Chris [Colfer].
